The Jerusalem Light Festival is celebrating its seventh year. This year the festival, with its 30-plus art installations by local and international artists, had a certain touch that really made it worth a visit (or two in my case). The four routes take you through different parts of the Old City with one of them taking you along the outside of the Old City walls. With the gorgeous backdrop of ancient Jerusalem, it is no wonder this festival draws around 300,000 visitors every year!
- Tens of thousands come every night to see the Jerusalem Light Festival.
- Damascus Gate beomes the canvas for children’s artwork from around Israel
- “Blooming Meadow” by Jaffa Gate, Old City of Jerusalem
Haven’t seen enough? Here is a video of the festival I made on the first night:

What Election Day in Israel is Really Like
Israelis repeatedly fascinate and entertain me with their playful approach to the most serious of issues. I know, I know – that is not at all what you’re seeing on the news as Israel’s elections seem to have taken over, even internationally. But walk the streets of Israel’s cities today and you’ll probably notice a surprisingly relaxed vibe.

We Can All Be Birdwatchers
