I was never a big birdwatcher. But then I was exposed to one billion birds flying over this country twice a year. Just seeing that made me into an avid birdwatcher by force! There is nothing like those starlings dancing in the air anywhere else in the world.
This is what Ron, one of our tour guides, told me after I showed him an absolutely stunning video that’s been circling the web this week, one that mesmerizes the viewer. Check it out:
This phenomenon, which I would call sky-art, is actually called murmuration. Ron explained that the birds are starlings, or zarzir (?????) in Hebrew.
I’m also no birdwatcher but it is clear how witnessing this site first hand could convert almost anyone into one.
See more amazing photos of this murmuration here.
