Read the Bible and watch movies about the Holyland so you can have some background before you come. It will be easier to understand. 

Favorite Jewish/Israeli historical figure and why?

Yitzhak Rabin is my favorite figure in Israel because he had the courage to make peace between Israelis and the Palestinians.
