Favorite Jewish/Israeli historical figure and why? Considering the time we’re going through, I choose the Nachshon Aminadav, the Israelite prince of the tribe of Judah who was the first to jump into the swirling waters of the Red Sea when commanded to by God and Moses. He faced the threat of the sea, fearing that the leadership was not taking the initiative, so he demonstrated faith and leadership himself and lead by example. 3,300 years or so, after that, we again see that in the absence of leadership, the decisive thing is for all the people to embody the spirit of Nachshoni ben Aminadav. Without thinking twice, just jump into the sea.
